Kristen Palana is a multimedia artist, animator, and painter currently living in Brooklyn, New York. She is an Assistant Professor of Digital Media at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey.

Recently her experimental multimedia animation, Five O' Clock Shadows was featured in the 36th New York Expo of Short Film and Video in December 2002 in Manhattan, and at the 1st Annual Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival in Nevada City, CA in January 2003. The most recent screenings were at the 2003 DC Independent Film Festival in Washington DC. and at the Creative Alliance Film Festival in Baltimore, MD.

Kristen is also currently participating in an online exhibit, Art on the Net, sponsored by the Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts Tokyo.

Kristen received her MFA from Pratt Institute's Computer Graphics and Interactive Media Department. She also holds a BFA in Painting from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, MA. Travelling and volunteering in developing countries rank among her biggest interests. She has lived and worked in Ireland, Scotland, and India and visited 23 countries on 5 continents.

Current projects in progress include Peeper, a stop-motion animated short, Aura's House.com, a website that raises money to buy a house for a family in Guatamala (will be officially launched in August 2003), and Lucky, an experimental documentary about one Indian American girl's arranged marraige.
